About

Gustavo Romang

The Romang Collection was founded by Gustavo Romang. He holds an Honorary Doctorate, an Eastern Studies degree, and a Master of Arts degree. Gustavo has been a lecturer for more than 30 years and, as a professor, has taught in four different countries across the world.

He decided to merge his academic life with a passion for collecting fine Asian art and rare antique books.

As a collector, he travels around the world, in particular to Japan every year. He has made a personal connection with various artists, art gallery owners, and curators, and developed a strong and friendly relationship with them.

Today, Gustavo owns more than 1200 works of art. His collection includes contemporary and antiques, fine ceramic pieces, and woodwork from Japan, Korea, and China.
